There were some days Carol thought was the day she’d leave. John is great, but I really should go home, she’d think, and then her body would betray her. Carol would be right there on the bed waiting for John’s return.
This day was different. After a lot of thought, Carol realized that he’d done something to her mind, and that every time she rebelled, she ended up waiting.
This time, she was ready. If thinking about leaving and being on her own made her body want to stay, then thinking about staying and serving him as he pleased would let her body go!
The truth is, Carol made a great argument to herself. This time, Carol settled in. And this time, mind and body were in full agreement.
